Project partners

 

 

State Library of Berlin is the project coordinator and provides the project with digitised historical newspaper content from its collection.

 

National Library of theNetherlandsleads the work-package on refinement of the digitised newspaper pages and provides the project with digitised historical newspaper content from its collection.

 

The University of Salford leads the work-package of quality assessment of the refinement performed on the digitised newspaper pages.

  The European Library leads the work-package on Aggregation and Presentation that deals with the aggregation of the digitised and refined historical newspaper pages to the freely accessible service of Europeana and will develop a content browser for the users to search and retrieve newspaper content.

 

The University of Innsbruck leads the work-package that develops the meta-data model for the Europeana Newspapers project. UIBK also produces OCR output for 10 millions pages for the refinement of the digitised newspaper content in the scope of the work-package of refinement.

 

LIBER as a networking partner leads the Dissemination and Exploitation work-package.

 

 

CCS Content Conversion Specialists GmbH is a technical partner that produces OCR output in the scope of the refinement work-package.

  National Library of Austria provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

University of Belgrade Library “Svetozar Markovic” provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

National Library of  Estonia provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

National Library of  Finland provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

National Library of  France provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

Dr. Friedrich Teßmann Library provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

The State and University Library of Hamburg provides the project with digitised historical newspaper content.

 

 

National Library of Latvia provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

National Library of Poland provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

National Library of Turkey provides the project with digitised newspaper content from its collection.

 

 

The British Library is a networking partner in the Europeana Newspaper Project.
