At this project event on national level project partners and Turkish invited speakers will join forces to show the latest achievements in the Europeana Newspapers Project and developments in digitisation and refinement for historical Ottoman newspapers.

This event will inform national stakeholders of the objectives and achievements of the project and the national project partner in the refinement and aggregation of digitised newspaper pages to the freely accessible Europeana through The European Library. The following topics will be addressed by international project partners and Turkish invited speakers:

  • -General overview of the project
  • -Digitisation
  • -Refinement of digitised newspaper content
  • -Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
  • -Ottoman OCR
