The National Library of Turkey will host the first information day of the Europeana Newspapers Project on the 3rd of May 2013 in Ankara.
This event will inform national stakeholders of the objectives and achievements of the project and the national project partner in the refinement and aggregation of digitised newspaper pages to the freely accessible Europeana through The European Library. The following topics will be addressed by international project partners and Turkish invited speakers:
- -General overview of the project
- -Digitisation
- -Refinement of digitised newspaper content
- -Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
- -Ottoman OCR
