Tomorrow the Europeana Newspapers Project will share its best practices with librarians in a workshop at LIBER 2013.
This year’s LIBER conference is hosted by the Bavarian State Library in Munich.
The Europeana Newspapers project has performed a survey among LIBER libraries that provided the project with insights about the extent of the newspaper digitision and gaps to address. This workshop will give an overview of the project and how it adresses the gaps in newspaper digitisation. In the second half of the workshop will participants be involved in a panel discussion around best practices in refinement, use scenarios, evaluation tools, metadata and the future of newspaper digitisation in European libraries.
