Europeana Newspapers project will be at LIBER 2013 conference with a workshop. This workshop will involve participants in the process of how the Europeana Newspapers Project will improve the current extent of newspaper digitization in European libraries. The project partners will present the refinement methods used in the project that will drastically improve search and retrieve possibilities for researchers. Historical newspapers are a challenge for the quality of refinement; the project develops special evaluation tools and standards that will help libraries to improve their digitisation workflows. The participants will be involved in a discussion around the gaps in newspaper digitisation, best practices in refinement, use scenarios, evaluation tools and the future of newspaper digitization in European libraries.
